Samuri (actor in a Kabuki play) by Kyotada
We will drawing this woodcut (or one of a woman) UPSIDE DOWN so as to be able to focus on shapes and relationships not "What it is"
upside down makes the familiar unfamiliar and bypasses the symbol making part of our brain to draw what we SEE not what we THINK we see.
We will take our drawings and add watercolor washes.
