WHAT'S IN A NAME?
As an "ice breaker" and Get to know you" lesson, students had to design an original alphabet spelling their name that conveyed something autobiographical. Their personalities and interests had to be explored in letter forms. In creating their alphabets the fields of typography, and graphic design were covered. Thumbnail sketches, brainstorming, tracing paper transfer, and colored pencil techniques explained.
